"Tula Cope wrote that this restaurant 1) doesnt serve authentic mexican food, and 2) They dont speak English. I have never had a problem with any of the waiters understanding me or me understanding their English so I don’t know what her problem was. So sad for her nasty degrading review. She obviously never brought any of this to the attention of either the management or the actual server. The salsa has absolutely no ketchup in it. In fact, I’m not certain they even have ketchup in their restaurant. I’ve eaten their numerous times the attention to detail is excellent, and they always pleased their customers if the customers have the actual ambition to talk to them if they have a complaint. they always want their customers to be satisfied and we’ll go the extra mile. Perhaps this woman should have opened her mouth if she was dissatisfied instead of waiting to write a nasty review online. In checking her other reviews, she always has nasty things to say more than kind things to say in her reviews. You can’t please everyone. I hope she has a decent Christmas and a new year. PS the owner and the kitchen staff are all Mexican. And they cook from authentic Mexican recipes. Maybe she should check herself."

"Amazing food and great service! The menu had so many tasty options, and the sopes were absolutely on point. Our server, Gisell, was fantastic — super friendly and took the time to explain everything on the menu. Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants around. Can’t wait to go back! If you haven’t tried this place yet, you’re missing out — definitely a must-visit local gem!"

"Came on a Saturday for the first time. No problem getting a seat outside. The guac was incredibly fresh and the torta was huge! The tostadas were too much for just one person but flavorful. Came back the next day and the food wasn't as good. The burrito and tostadas were full of shredded lettuce and not a ton of meat. The guac was still great. The place definitely lacks veggie options. And they interestingly add carrots and broccoli in their veggie burrito. I liked that they avoid the cliche beans and orange rice with every dish like most Mexican places in Summerville. It's good enough to come back and try again and offers some unique flavors that other places don't have."

"I just wanted to tell you about this amazing Mexican place in Charleston – seriously the best! They make their tortillas fresh, always have these delicious fruit-infused waters (aguas frescas), and the food is so authentic. They do all the traditional stuff, like *aporeado* ( traditional to the guerreo region), even chicken foot soup if you're feeling adventurous! And their micheladas and palomas? Forget about it! They're incredible. The whole family runs the place, and everyone is super friendly. You should definitely check it out and support Ms. Maria and her family – they deserve all the success in the world!"

"TC ribeye combo and the Texas Fajita. It was too much food for two people. Served hot and seasoned well."

"I stopped in here for lunch on a weekday. 2 other tables were occupied, who's left the restaurant rather empty. One gentleman came in and sat at the bar and ordered his lunch. It took an extra minute for the waitress to come to the table with a manial, and then chips and sauce were delivered. Wasn't phone to the salsa; It was very ketchup-y tasting. I ordered the trio, so they also brought queso and guacamole. The case I was room temperature, but it was good and the guacamole was chilled and perfect! I loved the flavor the texture and the seasoning of the guacamole. I ordered a street taco in a flower shell and added fresh cut jalapenos. Delicious! Aside from this, also, the food was great and very authentic. The wait staff was attentive. They had a full service bar, and some outdoor tables. It was a bit small inside, but it didn't look like they hit capacity, so that wasn't a real issue."

"We’ve officially found our go-to Mexican restaurant! From the start, the warm tortillas and fresh salsa were the perfect appetizer—packed with chopped cilantro, onions, and a delicious tomato base. The Maria Skinny Margarita was hands down the best I’ve ever had, made with fresh mandarin juice. My chicken enchiladas were incredible—perfectly seasoned shredded chicken wrapped in fresh corn tortillas, topped with vegetables and a creamy sauce. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome. The décor was vibrant, colorful, and authentically Mexican, with everything sparkling clean. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Summerville, parking was also a breeze. To top it all off, we were sent home with a complimentary flan dessert—such a thoughtful touch! What a true Summerville gem. We’ll absolutely be back again and again!"
